2018 has been a phenomenal year for Tom Walker. Having started the year being tipped in many of the polls including BBC Sound Of 2018; MTV's Brand New 2018 and Shazam's 'Next To Know'; Tom has gone onto become a global breakout artist selling around 4 million singles, touring the globe and his journey is only just starting.
The Glasgow born, Manchester raised, singer/songwriter’s international hit single ‘Leave A Light On’ has had over 300 million streams, hit the Top 10 singles chart in UK and all over Europe and was No.1 in the iTunes chart in 20 countries and has been certified platinum in the UK, Australia, France, Belgium, Netherlands, is double platinum in Italy and Switzerland and Gold in all other European territories and Canada, plus was number four in the European Airplay Chart for many weeks. He recently has performed the song on Channel 4’s Stand Up To Cancer as well as on X Factor as a special guest and a few weeks later on the X Factor final.
The single was also Top 20 in the US Hot AC chart and Top 40 in the U.S Pop radio airplay chart and he performed it on NBC's The TODAY SHOW as well as it being synced to numerous TV shows including Greys Anatomy, Love Island and the latest Sony Bravia TV commercial. The gut-wrenching track was written by Tom and Steve Mac and produced by Steve (Ed Sheeran’s “Shape Of You”, Anne Marie’s ‘Alarm’).
Tom recently announced his debut album What A Time To Be Alive, released on March 1st 2019, which was produced by Jim Abbiss (Adele, Arctic Monkeys), Steve Mac (Ed Sheeran) and Mike Spencer (Years & Years).
Following on from previous sold out headline tours in the UK, Europe and the US, Tom announced his ‘What A Time To Be Alive’ Tour which kicks off from April 2019 with dates already selling out.
With hundreds of million streams to his name, Tom’s previous single ‘Heartland’ was co-written and produced with Naughty Boy, and became a mainstay on Radio 1. It followed his breakout tracks ‘Fly Away With Me’, 'Just You And I (Acoustic)' and ‘Blessings’ - an acoustic version of which he played on BBC 2’s Saturday night Glastonbury coverage.
Tom's latest single 'Angels' was A list on BBC Radio 1 and playlisted on many radio stations around Europe. He also features on Rudimental’s latest single ‘Walk Alone’.
