Tom Walker Makes A Fierce Return with single 'Burn' by Simon King

Tom Walker today makes a poignant return, sounding like you’ve never heard him before on brand new, defining single ‘Burn’. A rally cry from an artist pushed to his limit this is the first single from his long awaited second album.

“The day I wrote ‘Burn’, I thought ‘Fuck everyone, I'm sick of this" Tom summises. “I scrapped a whole album and decided to go back to making songs that I love. Songs that make the hairs stand up on the back of my neck. Songs that bring a tear to my eye. Songs that actually mean something to me.”

But now, looking ahead, as Tom succinctly puts it; I will die for these songs. It’s the first time in a long time I’ve felt like that. You’ve got to ignore what everyone else wants from you, and you’ve got to back yourself.”

And with that, welcome to the exciting, limitless next phase of Tom Walker. A man who knows where he’s headed: to arena-scale songs with molecular-level heart.

Tom Walker releases single 'Serotonin' & performs on the Late Late Show with James Corden by Simon King

Tom Walker makes an impressive return with the upbeat and addictive ‘Serotonin’.

His distinctive voice is gloriously showcased on this hook laden, sonically expansive track. ‘Serotonin’ was written by Tom, alongside Gez O’Connell, who penned Dua Lipa’s ‘Hotter Than Hell’, and The Elements (AJ Tracey, Tion Wayne, Headie One) and produced by Mike Spencer (Rudimental), as well as The Elements.

The video, shot by Samuel Douek (Sigala, Craig David) in Mexico City, documents the difficult relationship between father and daughter. Layered with stunning colour and texture throughout, the video comes to an epic climax with breathtaking performance shots from Tom in a hot air balloon.

Tom says; “Before the pandemic I spent four years chasing a serotonin hit, and that last gig that made me feel on top of the world. The last epic night out. It's not sustainable though - you can't wake up happy every day and you can't have the sun without the rain. You have to find joy in the little things and learn to appreciate them day to day.”

He also recently performed the single on James Corden’s Late Late Show in the US.

Jalle releases new single 'Downers' featuring Issey Cross by Simon King

Rising alt star Jalle releases his brand new single ‘Downers’, featuring left-pop newcomer Issey Cross. Emerging onto the scene in 2020, Jalle’s live energy has already seen him sell out a homecoming Nottingham show and perform at the likes of: Jack Saunders’ Hopscotch night, Dot2Dot Festival and BBC Introducing.

The track, produced with Josef Page (Aziya, Millie Turner), is a snappy earworm with a central message that rings true to many young people battling with anxieties in the age of the internet. Featuring Issey Cross who has spent 2 weeks in the UK Top 40 with current single ‘Used To This’ by DJ and producer Wilkinson, the pair have worked together to create something that encompasses their past anxieties and trauma in a track that radiates good vibes.

As Jalle comments: “My school life definitely had an influence on this song for me, particularly how I felt during my school years. I always hated school and never really felt like I fit in. I always felt like an outsider and was constantly changing myself to try and fit in. Issey and I really connected over this and had similar experiences so 'Downers' was created.

Tom Walker & The Duchess Of Cambridge perform together on Christmas Eve by Simon King

Last night saw an extremely special performance as Tom Walker and The Duchess Of Cambridge joined forces for a stunning version of Tom’s new track ‘For Those Who Can’t Be Here’ as part of the ‘Royal Carols: Together At Christmas’ - broadcast on ITV.

Taking to the piano, The Duchess accompanied Tom in what was an incredibly moving performance of the highly emotional song that speaks eloquently of heartfelt sorrow for all those no longer with us.

Tom is no stranger to the Royals. Two years ago in played ‘Leave A Light On’ at a private Royal Foundation Fundraiser Dinner at which The Duchess of Cambridge was present. After recently playing a charity event for Forward Trust, of which The Duchess of Cambridge is Patron, Tom was asked to perform at the Royal Carols: Together At Christmas show. He was initially approached about singing ‘Leave A Light On’ but suggested his new Christmas song ‘For Those Who Can’t Be Here’ instead. Kate then asked if she could play piano during the performance and it was the perfect fit for the carol service at Westminster Abbey.

Hosted and spearheaded by The Duchess Of Cambridge, and supported by The Royal Foundation, the service featured carols sung by the Westminster Abbey choir, and paid tribute to the incredible hard work of individuals and organizations across the UK who have supported their communities through the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Reflecting on the special performance, Tom says; “It was truly an honour playing alongside The Duchess for Royal Carols: Together at Christmas. Without doubt, it was a once in a lifetime experience. I thought she absolutely smashed the performance; it's not easy to just jump behind a piano with a bunch of musicians you've never played with before and record live takes to camera, but she completely nailed it.

"She's such a lovely, kind & warm hearted person and she took the time to thank everyone personally for the opportunity to play together. It was a crazy pinch yourself kind of day for me, to be in such a beautiful venue playing alongside The Duchess with my band and a string quartet. I certainly won't forget that in a hurry! My mum had a total freak out when she saw it on the telly. I know this song will resonate with a lot of people this Christmas and my heart goes out to anyone raising a glass around the table remembering those who can't be with us.”
